ANA Screen (Antinuclear Antibodies)

What it measures 

Detects antibodies produced when the immune system attacks the body's own cells. A broad early-warning screen for autoimmune conditions like lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and Sjogren's syndrome. 

Best for 

Anyone with unexplained fatigue, joint pain, skin changes, dry eyes or mouth, or a family history of autoimmune conditions. Significantly more common in women. 

If results need attention 

A positive screen is a prompt for further investigation, not a diagnosis. Your Protocol doctor will explain what a positive result means and refer you to a rheumatologist for confirmatory testing if needed.
